Mexican Night Saturday 27th September 2008

Simon Pryce, ably assisted by Sarah, cooked a 3 course Mexican meal for thirty plus members and friends in aid of fund raising for the RNLI. Tables were laid out in a fine manner, and as dinner was announced we were seated and then waited on by several of our cadet members. We had corn soup for starters, a first try for many & it was lovely. The main course was Tex Mex chilli con carne and was typically Mexican being HOT and was served with a white rice salsa, sour cream and fried beans, to soothe the pallet. Desert was a tropical fruit salad. After the meal a raffle was drawn, having been organised by Steve Coello, a shy retiring, young man!! Many thanks to Simon & Sarah for putting on a first class evening, in aid of a worthy cause. Simon is aiming to raise 30,000 for the RNLI, so far I believe he has raised some 17,000, which has seen him running the London Marathon and 3 marathons at the Royal Cornwall Show, one on each day. His next big event will be running the New York Marathon on 2nd November. Below are some photographs taken on the night. Clicking on any photo will produce a larger version.
